paul and val were one of our first clients and have also become great friends of ours. we met them at our church in our “sunday school” class…. yes, i said sunday school. it’s really called “young marrieds class”, but it should really be called “renegades with kids”. we have met some very dear friends through our class and our church (a little shoutout for kentwood community church!!). we feel so blessed to be apart of such an awesome community of friends.
when paul and val announced they were pregnant, we were THRILLED for them. when little joshua (and all of his crazy dark hair) arrived, i couldn’t wait to get my camera on him! and what can i say, he pretty much knocked it out of the park. the kid is already a natural rockstar in front of the camera. his parents are pretty hot, as well.
we had lots of fun with him while he was asleep…. baskets, tall grass, my favorite aqua chair….. he was a trooper! here’s a sneak peek from our afternoon together. and we are so thrilled for you paul and val! parenthood is by far one of God’s greatest gifts and miracles!!! enjoy your little bundle….. and a few pictures………

have i told you how much i LOOOOOVE chicago???? yes, i do!! just ask ben, i keep trying to convince my hot husband to move us there, but he’s not a fan of the crazy traffic. we have many friends in chicago and now, many clients, as well, so i get excited every time we get to go back. this visit was no exception and we had a blast with john and sarah on their engagement shoot! talk about a cool and fun couple to hang out with for the afternoon…. they ROCKED! we went all over the city from north beach to the meat packing district (one of my fave places to shoot). they were so flexible to try whatever we wanted and i must say we got some fabulous shots of the skyline and our supermodels….. good times had by all.
we are so thrilled to be part of your wedding day and can’t wait to see you again!!! here is part II of john + sarah in chi-town! enjoy…….

our first photo session in CT was with darra + darin + 3 ADORABLE kids!!! the girls showed up in their striped orange dresses that swooshed perfectly when they twirled and could they ever work the camera!!! the littlest member of the crew, blake would wander or run off frequently, making for some really fun pictures!
we shot at a couple of locations in guilford, one being this fabulous farm with a cool rugged brown barn and a small field. when we were taking some pictures of the sisters in the field, we came across a little wooden doll house sitting on a bench……. REALLY????!!! that’s a photographer’s dream when random cool things show up our of nowhere!
we had a blast with the meder family and we hope to see you again soon!!!! here’s a sneak preview of their family session……. enjoy!!!

here’s some pics of my HOT bride. we got married on 6.23 (ring a bell?) — NINE YEARS AGO! and she’s still smokin’.
so we’re putting together a custom mini-website for each of our brides and we needed some pictures for the header. theme = weddings are on our mind. and after taking these pictures, i’m thinking second honeymoon is on the mind.
funny story about the pics that we just had to share. we set up our lights and backdrop in our basement late at night – walk out basement with windows and sliding door. who woulda thunk that the flash would light up the whole neighborhood. poor Mr. Denny woke up twice thinking there was lightning outside. that is till he looked out the window at 1:00 a.m. and saw mindy sporting her wedding dress and an occasional bouquet of flowers. haha!
so, everyone…you know mindy the photographer. now, meet mindy the bride!!!

this past weekend, we traveled to chicago to meet john + sarah, go on some adventures and capture some engagement pictures! there are many more pictures yet to edit, but we were too excited not to share!! so we just had to give you a sneak peek. chicago is one of our favorite places to shoot, so if you are getting married, give us a jingle! this is part 1….. the sequel will have even more pictures! check out this skyline shot….. can you find the happy couple kissing? i’m thinking this picture would make a fantabulous, extremely large canvas…. oh yeah. enjoy…..

i am not usually a fan of newborn photos … but these are so unique! that little guy has so much personality for an infant, and you captured that in such a quirky/artistic way! i’m totally calling you guys when we have kids ;]
if only mindy (and ben) had been there for baby pictures when our kids were born…but that would have been impossible…mindy was merely a high school kid then! bummer. these are beautiful.
Fantastic!
