calling all ballerinas. we’ll shoot you any time. and any place…so long as it’s an abandoned warehouse with really cool blown out windows!!!

when our good friend kristen (of the bachaumard’s that we blogged about a week or so back) said, “oh…and we know one other family that would love to catch you guys when you’re in town,” we said…. “game on.” the schedule was full…but never ever so full that we couldn’t squeeze in a ballerina who wanted to go urban. seriously

it’s always funny doing a shoot for another artist. i mean, we normally tell people how to hold their heads and place their feet. but how exactly do you tell a dancer what to do when you have no idea what it is that they’re doing. “can you do that one thing where you put your hand up, or whatever…and do that other thing with your feet?!” haha. i confess that i actually tried a couple moves, you know, to try and get my point across. i don’t think it helped

stephanie…you seriously gave us a gift by letting us shoot your session. it was crazy fun. and we were totally inspired!!! thank you so much and we hope you love ‘em like we do!!!

what would a trip to connecticut be without a day of pushing the limits with the bachaumard family?! sometimes we have a shot that we’re dying to try – without any idea of if we can actually get it or not (i.e., the shot of elliott below with the train flying by!). but who would be willing to let us try it with them? ding ding ding….the bachaumards!

and now, elliott is a senior…so it’s time to do senior pics bachaumard style our favorite.
of course enzo and hugo (aka, the jonas brothers!) have got an outfit or two to snag a few shots while we’re out. we’re totally game.

and kristen (mom), i’m personally afraid of mindy spending too much time with you because you put waaayyy too many good ideas in her head. and ideas cost money you know!

so caitlyn’s senior session was truly a family affair!! given that we drive to some whacky places for our sessions, usually making at least one wrong turn along the way, we often have everyone hop in our van for the shoot. not so with caitlyn’s family. she brought her sister, mom and dad and was bummed that her other sister, whitney, couldn’t come. (we were bummed too since we shot whitney’s wedding earlier this year and we pretty much love her!!!) needless to say, they followed us in their own car.

that wouldn’t have been such a big deal except caitlyn’s dad is a cop and our brake light was out…haha…oops!!! he let us know didn’t ticket us this time

it’s senior season!! and have we ever been loving our “models” this year

kaila contacted us awhile back and she knew exactly what she wanted. “something different!” so we just loved when we pulled up to our first location and her mother chimed in, “this is different for sure!” love it. shooting is so much fun when we’re able to take some risks and kaila was up for it all!! thanks kaila. you did it right!!

so here’s a handful of our favorites with kaila!

we were so excited to meet becca and do her senior session! her mom had mentioned that she was a dancer (ballerina) and that she would be bringing an outfit to take some pictures in. i was excited at the idea of urban ballerina, but even more thrilled when we met and she busted out a BLACK tutu and leotard with HOT PINK toe shoes…… REALLY???!! yes, becca IS that cool. she is vibrant, beautiful, outgoing and full of life. we had so much fun on all of our adventures downtown and her mom and aunt both came adding to the whole experience! we hit some great locations and we all LOVED when we pulled up to our favorite graffiti wall and it looked perfectly painted just for us!

senior sessions have not been our focal point in the past, but we sure are loving shooting them!!! we still hold to our artistic style and want to bring our vision to the scenario, but what fun when we get those who want just that! thanks becca for being so FABULOUS and we can’t wait to watch you dance professionally someday….. maybe broadway? yes, you are a ROCKSTAR… i can see it now!!! until then…. enjoy your last year of high school and a sneak peek of a few of our faves.

let me first start off by telling you that when jake and his hip and HOT mom, amy, pulled up to meet us, i turned to ben and said, “that’s soooo cute…… his girlfriend came with him!”. and i was not joking….. i thought she was way too young looking to be a mom!!!! and they have like a dozen kids!! okay, a bit of an exaggeration, but they do have a LOT! so off we headed to downtown GR to shoot some urban senior madness with jake and what a good sport he was! usually speaking, guys tend not to be as excited about pictures as the girls, but he was like, “whatever”! and he had down the GQ thing and such a contagious and happy smile! we had a great time with jake and his “girlfriend” on our adventure and we will hopefully be seeing more of this family in the future!! here are some of our faves from the day…… ENJOY!!!!!
